Oaxacan Old Fashioned
A smoky twist on the classic Old Fashioned using mezcal and reposado tequila for a rich, complex flavor.
Ingredients
- 30 ml mezcal
- 30 ml reposado tequila
- 7.5 ml simple syrup
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- No sugar syrup? Use 1 teaspoon of sugar per drink to sweeten.

Method
- Put the mezcal, reposado tequila, simple syrup, and bitters into a glass.
- Add one large ice cube.
- Stir gently until well chilled.
- Twist the orange peel over the glass to release oils, then drop it in as garnish.
