The Origin of a Strawberry Daiquiri

The daiquiri is a Cuban mix of rum, lime, and sugar. The usual account names it for the village of Daiquirí, near Santiago de Cuba, where Jennings Cox is said to have served that sour around the end of the nineteenth century. The strawberry daiquiri keeps the rum, lime, and sugar, then blends in strawberries so the sour turns soft and red.
