The Origin of an Espresso Martini

Dick Bradsell created this drink in London in the 1980s, while he was working at the Soho Brasserie. A guest asked for something that would wake them up and then knock them out, and he answered with vodka, coffee liqueur, and a fresh shot of espresso. He first served it as a vodka espresso. The name Espresso Martini came later, along with the three coffee beans floated on the foam.
